Thank you for your interest in LeftRoots!
LeftRoots was a time-bound cadrefication organization founded in 2013 and sunset at the end of 2023. (To learn more about cadrefication, check out our cadrefication framework on our resources page.)
LeftRoots was founded to transform two major underdevelopments in the movement: a lack of grounded revolutionary strategy and a lack of strategists who could carry out and synthesize that work as part of mass struggles. (To learn more about LeftRoots' purpose, visit our purpose page.)
In 2021 we assessed that we were on track to achieve our goal by the end of 2023. Now, on the other side of it, we are proud to have done so. We are keeping this website up to serve as a small testament to the movement that birthed LeftRoots and the work we did to create the conditions for new or renewed cadre organizations.
LeftRoots’ last chapter was as a leading force in a broader movement intervention, the Socialist Organization and Strategy (SOS) process. This process birthed two groups of initiators responsible for the launching of two new cadre formations with distinct revolutionary strategies.
Besides the page detailing LeftRoots’ purpose and the materials linked from the resources page hosted here, LeftRoots’ archives will be held by the Robert S. Cox Special Collections & University Archives Research Center (SCUA) at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. These documents will be released in the spring of 2024.
